Plan Cost Calculator: Estimate Your 401(k) Costs

Planning a 401(k) is easier when you can see pricing in plain English. The ForUsAll Plan Cost Calculator helps you estimate your monthly and annual costs based on the plan option you’re considering—whether you’re starting a new 401(k) or improving an existing one. This estimate is designed to help you compare options quickly and understand what typically drives plan costs: flat monthly fees, participant counts, and asset-based advisory fees.

How This Calculator Estimates Cost

This calculator uses the inputs you provide to generate an estimate:

  • Payroll Integration: Uses the published starting monthly rate.
  • Advisor Plus: Uses your total plan assets and selected advisory fee rate to estimate annual advisory cost, then converts it to monthly cost.
  • Start a 401(k): Uses the published monthly base fee and multiplies the per-participant monthly fee by your participant count.

Note: ForUsAll pricing pages indicate some services may also include an advisory fee of 0.20%–0.40% of plan assets per year. This calculator is meant to provide a simple estimate; your final fees may vary based on plan setup and services selected.

FAQs

What costs does this calculator include?

It estimates ForUsAll costs tied to the option you select (flat monthly pricing, per-participant pricing, and/or asset-based advisory pricing).

What inputs do I need?

That depends on the plan option:

  • Start a 401(k): number of participants
  • Advisor Plus: total plan assets and advisory fee rate
  • Payroll Integration: no additional inputs beyond the option selected

How is the Advisor Plus estimate calculated?

The calculator estimates annual advisory cost as:
Plan Assets × Advisory Fee Rate, then divides by 12 to show a monthly estimate. Advisor Plus is listed as 0.2%–0.4% on plan assets per year.

How is the Start a 401(k) estimate calculated?

It uses $120/month + $6/month per participant (based on the pricing shown) to estimate monthly and annual totals.

Are these numbers a guaranteed quote?

No. This is an estimate for planning and comparison. Actual costs may vary depending on plan design, services selected, and other plan-related fees disclosed in your final agreement and fee disclosures.
